Lunch party!!

My students worked hard to earn a lunch party. We made our own sandwiches and wraps and also had a variety of sides. They were super excited to get ice cream sandwiches from our favorite classroom helper!!

Morning message

We have a morning message daily which helps to give the children a glimpse into the day. They are reminded of specials and any extra events. We also use this time to answer questions.

Sentence structure

We are working on proper sentence structure, building sentences, spelling sight words accurately, and writing for purpose! We are learning how to research and write our own nonfiction books.

Science

We have taken some time this week to learn about seeds, plants, and the earth. We put soil in the sensory table and each child planted marigold seeds. Yay for hands on learning!

Earthworm Exploration

We began a unit all about worms! The students had a great time holding our new little critters! Over the next week or two, we will be writing our own nonfiction books on worms, conducting observations, learning about habitats, and reading various fiction and nonfiction books on worms.

This week...

Everyone was eager to start back into the routine today. We all enjoyed telling stories from our spring break adventures.

We began our shape unit in math. Each day we will be introducing a new shape.

We are continuing to work with sentence dictation during our FUNdations instruction. We are practicing proper capitalization, spacing, and proper spelling of our trick words.

Our theme this week is the sun and moon. Ask your child what happened when we traced shadows outside today? :-)
